About Daughters of the American Revolution Lineage Books (152 Vols.)
We have just increased this already large and popular database by adding one more volume. This addition brings the total number of volumes to 152.
To search the database you may type in the given name or surname of the person who submitted the information to the Daughters of the American Revolution. If searching for an ancestor, it is necessary to type a given name and/or surname in the keyword search box.
The National Society, Daughters of the American Revolution is one of the oldest organizations in the United States dedicated to the preservation of American Revolutionary War genealogies. This database, containing references to Revolutionary War ancestors and their descendants, was created from Lineage Books of the National Society, Daughters of the American Revolution. These lineage books contain information submitted by tens of thousands of individuals with connections to Revolutionary War patriots. This collection now contains nearly 2.4 million names and is a valuable collection for anyone with ancestors who fought in the American Revolution.
Note: As with any such contributed database of this size and scope, factual errors may exist in the data, particularly in the area of Revolutionary War Service. The National Society, Daughters of the American Revolution has gone to great effort to collect and improve upon this valuable collection of ancestral data with additions and corrections whenever possible. Because this is such a large database, some hints on searching can greatly speed one's efforts. After performing a search, and clicking to see the search results, click on the hyperlink to see the next ten results. The URL will now show your search parameters with a suffix ending in fh=10. To advance to a particular number of hits (i.e. 155) merely change the end of the URL to the desired hit number (155 in this case). For example, if a search was performed for John Anderson, the search results in 881 hits. By clicking on the results, I see the first ten. By clicking on the "next hits" hyperlink, I see eleven through twenty. The URL now shows the address ending with query=anderson+john&fh=10. By changing the number following "fh=" I can skip ahead to hit number 880.
